On-Campus Re-Opening Information

The Office of Global Services remains committed to supporting international students and scholars virtually and in person. As we welcome guests back to our office on an appointment only basis, it is important to recognize our shared responsibility and respect for our community’s health and safety.

This page contains the latest information and updates about our in-person and virtual service offerings, answers to frequently asked questions, helpful resources, and available contact information.

Hours of Operation and Services

Visiting Our Office

Beginning October 5th, our office on the Boston campus will resume limited in-person services by appointment only.

We will be open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:00pm to 4:30pm (Note: We are closed on Tuesdays from 3:00pm – 4:00pm for all staff training and meeting). For the safety and health of our students and staff, we cannot allow more than 1 student in the lobby at one time.

Below are the in-person services currently available at our office:

  • Document pick-up
    • This only applies to documents that cannot be sent electronically such as DS-2019s, SSN Letters or I-20s that require a wet signature, etc. (Note: Your request must be approved in order to pick up a document)
    • We will continue to send all I-20s electronically unless there are extenuating circumstances.
  • General questions
    • OGS is re-opening for limited in-person services, however we strongly encourage students to call or email OGS with their questions before scheduling an appointment to visit in person.
    • OGS phone hours at Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm (closing on Tuesday from 3:00pm – 4:00pm).

If the service you seek requires a visit to our office, please keep in mind:

  • There will be no waiting space in our lobby, so please limit parties to one person
  • Arrive on time for your appointment. Guests arriving late or without an appointment will be required to re-schedule an appointment to visit the office.
  • Please have your Husky card ready and available if you are picking up a document. We will not release documents without seeing a photo ID
  • Follow floor markings to maintain social distancing between the front desk and other patrons.

Remote Services

  • Advising appointments: All scheduled advising appointments will be held using Microsoft Teams.
    • If a staff member schedules an appointment for you to meet with an advisor, please check the confirmation email for a link to join the Teams meeting.
  • Phone and email advising: OGS phone lines remain active from 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday if you need to speak with an OGS staff member for any questions or concerns.
  • You can email [email protected] if you would like to connect with an advisor over email.
  • I-20 processing: Based on the Fall 2020 SEVP Guidance , OGS is temporarily allowed to send I-20 documents electronically to student’s university email addresses.
    • Unless there are extenuating circumstances, all I-20s will be emailed to students and will not be printed for pick up.

4. Receive documents

9. Pay for the service. A prepaid label will be created and emailed to the Office of Global Services. We will ship the document as soon as it is processed.
