Here to make you feel welcome and supported.
A dedicated network of student services staff will be with you at the beginning of your pathway program, and stay with you through the completion of your degree.
Pre-arrival support
Even before you arrive in the US, you will have the support of our friendly Office of Global Services staff. You will receive a pre-arrival guide and information on how to apply for your student visa, along with information on how to book housing, get health insurance, and activate a myNortheastern online account. You will be ready to go before you leave your home country.
At the airport
First, you will receive a warm welcome when you arrive. If you applied for housing through Northeastern, you can book transportation from Boston Logan Airport to your accommodations. You won’t have to worry about navigating your new city on your first day.
Orientation week
During your first week, you will get to know Northeastern and your new city. You will tour the campus and facilities and be introduced to the staff and teachers who make up Global Pathways, as well as students who have completed the pathway program. They will offer advice and answer your questions about the program, living in the city, and getting around.
Global Student Success and the International Tutoring Center
Global Student Success (GSS) offers tutoring, workshops, and webinars to help Northeastern University’s international and non-native English speaking students. Services and courses provided by GSS are included in the cost of your tuition and are available to all students studying at Northeastern.
Social & cultural activities
You will enjoy a variety of fun activities around the university and the city. Whether cycling along the Charles River, attending a Celtics basketball game in Boston, or meeting with an American student to practice your English, these activities are a great way to meet fellow students and make new friends.
In addition to social activities, you will participate in cultural and professional development activities aimed at familiarizing you with the US and Northeastern graduate life. Whether it be a Thanksgiving dinner, meeting the experts in your field, or developing a resume, you will have the opportunity to experience university life in Global Pathways.
