{"id":21108,"date":"2023-12-12T21:07:57","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T21:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/international.northeastern.edu\/ogs\/?p=21108"},"modified":"2025-09-08T18:46:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T18:46:11","slug":"changes-to-ogs-communications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/international.northeastern.edu\/ogs\/changes-to-ogs-communications\/","title":{"rendered":"IMPORTANT CHANGES TO OGS COMMUNICATIONS: Inquiry Form is Live!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Dear Northeastern Students and Alumni,<\/h3>\r\n<b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Beginning on December 7, 2023, OGS deactivated its general office email addresses and implement a newly designed inquiry form in our self-service portal.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nEffective immediately, students are encouraged to contact OGS through one of the below methods for\r\nany inquiries or concerns:\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Submit a question online through our <a href=\"https:\/\/service.northeastern.edu\/ogs?id=ogs_ask_a_question&amp;sys_id=47cb95e387e1759011b72fc5dabb3512\">new inquiry form<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/service.northeastern.edu\/ogs\">OGS self-service portal<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Call us over the phone (U.S.-based students) at +1-617-373-2310<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Visit us on the Boston Campus at 354 Richards Hall during regular office hours, or for <a href=\"https:\/\/international.northeastern.edu\/ogs\/contact\/\">walk-in<\/a>\r\nadvising hours during the established hours<\/li>\r\n \t<li>For students currently studying at a Canadian campus, please email\r\n<a href=\"mailto:OGSCanadaAdvising@northeastern.edu\">OGSCanadaAdvising@northeastern.edu<\/a> or check the links for drop-in advising hours or to make\r\nan appointment:<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Toronto: <a href=\"https:\/\/studentlifetoronto.sites.northeastern.edu\/student-support-services\/\">https:\/\/studentlifetoronto.sites.northeastern.edu\/student-support-services\/<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Vancouver: <a href=\"https:\/\/northeastern.sharepoint.com\/:u:\/r\/sites\/VancouverCampusStudentHub\/SitePages\/Office-of-Global-Services.aspx?csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=0gGSt6\">Office of Global Services<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nAs we outlined in an email announcement in late-September, <strong>OGS will no longer accept inbound emails to our previously used general office email addresses.<\/strong> <strong>A<\/strong><strong>ll questions should <\/strong><strong>be submitted through the new inquiry form.<\/strong> This self-service portal aims to provide resources to students that will assist with answering frequently asked questions. If your question can\u2019t be answered utilizing resources in the portal, you will be able to submit the inquiry form for review by the OGS team. This shift in communication method will allow students to receive answers to their questions as quickly as possible.\r\n\r\nEffective immediately, the below email addresses will no longer be monitored:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><del>OGS@northeastern.edu, SeattleOGS@northeastern.edu, OGSSFSV@northeastern.edu,<\/del>\r\n<del>OaklandOGS@northeastern.edu, OGSRoux@northeastern.edu,<\/del>\r\n<del>ArlingtonOGS@northeastern.edu, OGSCanada@northeastern.edu,<\/del>\r\n<del>OGS_SSP@northeastern.edu, OGSAcademics@northeastern.edu,<\/del>\r\n<del>GlobalMentor@northeastern.edu<\/del><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThe following emails will remain the active for the following populations:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>OGS_Scholars@northeastern.edu: For all <strong>J-1 Scholars<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li>OGSCanadaAdvising@northeastern.edu: For all c<strong>urrent international students studying <\/strong>\r\n<strong>in Toronto or Vancouver<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nEmail, sent to OGS before today, will still receive a response and does not need to be resubmitted\r\nthrough the inquiry form.\r\n\r\n<strong>Tips for using the OGS self-service portal:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Always log in with your Northeastern credentials for a more personalized experience.
