International Tutoring Center
Improve your skills in comfortable, one-on-one or group sessions with professional tutors at the International Tutoring Center (ITC).

Global Student Success (GSS)
Global Student Success provides international and multilingual students with high-quality language, academic and cultural support. GSS offers tutoring, workshops, classes and other English language resources.

Writing Center
The Writing Center offers tutoring to help any level writer, from any academic discipline, become a better writer.

Peer Tutoring
The Peer Tutoring Program offers a wide variety of tutoring services to meet the academic needs of Northeastern undergraduate students.

Graduate Ombuds
The Graduate Ombuds Office offers confidential, impartial, and informal assistance to graduate students who have concerns related to their university experience.

Employer Engagement and Career Design
The Career Design department provides personalized career guidance for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni.

Cooperative Education
Co-op is an educational program in which students alternate periods of academic study in the classroom with periods of full-time co-op employment in positions related to their academic and/or career interests.

Off-Campus Housing and Support Services
Off-Campus Housing and Support Services is dedicated to supporting the needs of off-campus students including off-campus housing, communicating with landlords and roommates, and staying connected to campus.

Disability Resource Center (DRC)
The Disability Resource Center provides services to students with physical and/or learning disabilities.

We Care
The We Care program is a support system to aid students during times of difficulty or crisis.

University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS)
University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) is a resource to help students stay healthy, physically and mentally.

Office of Global Services (OGS)
OGS provides professional expertise and advice to ensure that students maintain compliance through their immigration, academic and employment experiences. They also host cultural events and activities.

Office for University Equity and Compliance (OUEC)
The OUEC is responsible for investigating and resolving all complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation at Northeastern.

Conduct Cases
The Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) addresses student conduct issues, such as academic integrity violation and other issues that violate the Code of Student Conduct.

The Boston area has many local organizations, clubs, and groups to help multilingual speakers improve their English language proficiency. Below are some resources for students to explore. Boston Public Library
Free ESL classes and conversation groups.

Cambridge Public Library
Free ESL classes focusing on conversation.

Boston ESL Meetup Group
A friendly English conversation group for learners of all levels. Meetings in the Boston area every two weeks to improve members’ speaking and listening skills.

JVS
JVS Boston is one of the largest and most impactful workforce development organizations in New England. JVS offers free ESL classes in Hyde Park.

Fee-Based Resources

Accent & Communication Training
The training offered by the Speech Language and Hearing Center at Northeastern is for non-native speakers of English who want to enhance their communication skills in academic, professional, or social situations.

YMCA International Learning Center
The center offers English classes at all levels (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced).
